AAK (company)
AAK (Aarhus Karlshamn) is a Swedish-based multinational company that specializes in the production and sale of vegetable oils and fats. The company was established in 2005 through the merger of Aarhus United A/S and Karlshamns AB. AAK's products are used in a wide range of applications, including food and confectionery, cosmetics, and biofuels.

AAK was formed in 2005 when Aarhus United A/S, a Danish company, merged with Karlshamns AB, a Swedish company. Both companies had a long history in the vegetable oils and fats industry, with Aarhus United tracing its roots back to 1871 and Karlshamns AB to 1918. The merger created a company with a strong presence in both the food and industrial sectors.

AAK operates in more than 25 countries, with production facilities in 20 countries. The company's operations are divided into three business areas: Food Ingredients, Chocolate & Confectionery Fats, and Technical Products & Feed. The Food Ingredients business area provides solutions for the bakery, dairy, infant nutrition, and foodservice industries. The Chocolate & Confectionery Fats business area offers solutions for chocolate and confectionery manufacturers. The Technical Products & Feed business area provides solutions for a variety of industrial applications, including biofuels.
Sustainability[edit | edit source]
AAK is committed to sustainability and has implemented a number of initiatives to reduce its environmental impact. The company is a member of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) and is committed to sourcing 100% certified sustainable palm oil. AAK also works to reduce its carbon footprint through energy efficiency measures and the use of renewable energy.
