Bailiwick of Guernsey is a British Crown dependency located in the English Channel off the coast of Normandy. As one of the Channel Islands, the Bailiwick includes the main island of Guernsey, as well as several smaller islands such as Alderney, Sark, Herm, Jethou, and smaller islets. The Bailiwick of Guernsey is not part of the United Kingdom but is a possession of the Crown in right of the Bailiwick. It has its own independent laws, elections, and governmental systems, although it relies on the UK for defence and international representation.
