Bandar Tun Razak is a township located in the southwestern part of Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia. Named after the second Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tun Abdul Razak Hussein, Bandar Tun Razak is a significant residential and commercial area that has grown rapidly since its establishment. It is situated within the Cheras district and is bordered by other notable areas such as Taman Connaught, Taman Midah, and Taman Tasik Permaisuri.

History[edit | edit source]

The area now known as Bandar Tun Razak was originally a rubber estate. In the 1980s, the Malaysian government, under the leadership of Tun Abdul Razak, initiated a development project to transform the estate into a residential area. This was part of a broader effort to provide affordable housing and improve living standards for the urban population. The township was officially named Bandar Tun Razak in honor of the Prime Minister after his death in 1976.

Public transportation in the area is facilitated by the Bandar Tun Razak LRT station, which is part of the Sri Petaling Line of the Kuala Lumpur Light Rail Transit system. This makes it convenient for residents and visitors to travel to and from the township.

The HUKM Hospital, now known as the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Medical Centre (UKMMC), is a major healthcare facility in the area.
