Casey McQuiston is an American author known for their work in the genre of romantic comedy and contemporary fiction. They gained widespread recognition with their debut novel, Red, White & Royal Blue, which was published in 2019.

Casey McQuiston was born on January 21, 1991, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. They attended Louisiana State University, where they studied journalism.

Career[edit | edit source]

McQuiston's debut novel, Red, White & Royal Blue, was published by St. Martin's Press in May 2019. The book quickly became a New York Times Best Seller and received critical acclaim for its engaging story and representation of LGBTQ+ characters. The novel follows the fictional romance between the First Son of the United States and a British prince.

In 2021, McQuiston released their second novel, One Last Stop, which also features a LGBTQ+ romance. The story revolves around a young woman named August who meets a mysterious woman on the New York City Subway.

Casey McQuiston identifies as non-binary and uses they/them pronouns. They are an advocate for LGBTQ+ rights and often incorporate themes of identity and self-discovery in their work.
