Definition

This measure is "crude" because it does not take into account the age distribution of the population, which can significantly affect mortality rates. For a more accurate measure of mortality that takes into account age distribution, the Age-Specific Mortality Rate or the Standardized Mortality Ratio can be used.

Uses

Limitations
