Crystal Head Vodka was launched in 2008 by Dan Aykroyd and John Alexander. The idea for the brand was inspired by the legend of the crystal skulls, which are believed by some to be ancient artifacts with mystical properties. The vodka is made from Canadian corn and is distilled four times. It is then filtered seven times, with three of those filtrations passing through layers of semi-precious crystals known as Herkimer diamonds. The water used in the production process is sourced from a deep aquifer in Newfoundland and Labrador.
