Del Taco Restaurants Inc. is an American fast food restaurant chain that specializes in Mexican and American cuisine. The company was founded on September 16, 1964, by Ed Hackbarth and David Jameson in Yermo, California. As of 2021, Del Taco operates over 600 locations across the United States.

Del Taco was established in 1964 in Yermo, California, by Ed Hackbarth and David Jameson. The first restaurant was an immediate success, leading to the opening of additional locations. By 1978, the chain had grown to 100 restaurants. In 1979, Del Taco introduced its first drive-thru service, which became a standard feature in all subsequent locations.

In 1992, Del Taco merged with Naugles, another fast-food chain, which expanded its menu and customer base. The company continued to grow, and in 2004, it was acquired by Sagittarius Brands, LLC. In 2015, Del Taco became a publicly traded company on the NASDAQ under the ticker symbol TACO.
