Empiric school

Empiric School was a movement in ancient Greek medicine that began around the 3rd century BCE and was characterized by its reliance on empirical evidence, in contrast to the Dogmatic school which was more theory-oriented, and the Methodic school, which focused on a simplified approach to medicine. The Empiric School's foundation is often attributed to the work of Philinus of Cos, a pupil of Hippocrates, and Serapion of Alexandria, although its principles were likely in practice before these figures. The school's philosophy was based on the idea that medical knowledge should be derived from observation, experience, and experiment, rather than solely from theoretical speculation.
