Enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli
Strains of Escherichia coli that are a subgroup of Shiga-toxigenic Escherichia coli. They cause non-bloody and bloody diarrhea; hemolytic uremic syndrome; and hemorrhagic colitis. An important member of this subgroup is Escherichia coli O157-H7.
