History[edit | edit source]

Entwine was formed in Lahti, Finland, by guitarist Tom Mikkola, drummer Aksu Hanttu, and bassist Tero "Tepi" Kallio. Initially, the band played death metal, but they soon decided to change their musical direction to gothic metal. In 1997, Pasi Hanttu joined the band as a second guitarist, and Joni Miettinen replaced Tero Kallio on bass.

In 1998, Entwine released their debut album, The Treasures Within Hearts. The album received positive reviews and helped the band gain a following in the Finnish metal scene. Their second album, Gone, was released in 2001 and marked a significant shift towards a more polished and melodic sound.
