Feminists for Life

Feminists for Life (FFL) is a non-profit organization that advocates for the rights of women and the protection of human life, particularly focusing on the issue of abortion. The organization was founded in 1972 by Rachel MacNair, Pat Goltz, and Mary Krane Derr, with the goal of promoting pro-life feminist perspectives within the feminist movement.

FFL believes that abortion is a reflection of societal failures to support women and families, and that true feminism should address the root causes that lead women to seek abortions. The organization advocates for policies and programs that provide practical support and resources to pregnant women, such as access to affordable healthcare, childcare, and education.

One of FFL's key initiatives is the Women Deserve Better campaign, which aims to raise awareness about the negative impact of abortion on women's physical and emotional well-being. The organization also works to challenge the notion that abortion is necessary for women's empowerment, arguing that true empowerment comes from supporting women in all aspects of their lives.

Critics of FFL argue that the organization's anti-abortion stance is incompatible with feminist principles, as it seeks to restrict women's reproductive rights. However, FFL maintains that its advocacy is rooted in a belief in the inherent dignity and worth of every human life, including the lives of unborn children.

In addition to its advocacy work, FFL provides resources and support for women facing unplanned pregnancies, offering alternatives to abortion and promoting a culture of life and respect for all individuals.
