Gadolinium based contrast agent

Gadolinium based contrast agent - a coordination complex consisting of a gadolinium ion bound to a hexadentate organic chelating agent such as diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid. Chelates of gadolinium are frequently utilized as magnetic resonance imaging (mri) contrast agents and can be used to track nanoparticle mediated drug delivery.
