The John F. Kennedy Medical Center is the national medical center of Liberia, located in the Sinkor district of Monrovia. It was built at the request of Liberian President William V.S. Tubman and funded by the USAID and the Liberian Government. Construction began in 1965 and the facility opened on July 27, 1971. The Medical Center consists of the John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital, the Liberian-Japanese Friendship Maternity Hospital, the Tubman National Institute of Medical Arts, and the E.S. Grant Mental Health Hospital.

During the Liberian Civil War, the Medical Center sustained heavy damage and was occupied by rebel forces. It was also used as a field hospital by the Red Cross and Médecins Sans Frontières. In 2009, Scottish philanthropist Ann Gloag funded a partial renovation of the hospital wards.

The General Administrator, appointed by the President of Liberia, is in charge of all the component organizations of the Medical Center. Former General Administrators include Dr. Moses Kronyanh Weefur, Dr. Wvannie Mae Scott-McDonald, and Dr. Jerry F. Brown.
