Katharine, Duchess of Kent

Katharine, Duchess of Kent, born Katharine Lucy Mary Worsley on February 22, 1933, is a member of the British royal family. She is the wife of Prince Edward, Duke of Kent, who is a first cousin of Queen Elizabeth II.

Early Life and Education Katharine Worsley was born in Hovingham Hall, Yorkshire, England, to Sir William Arthington Worsley, 4th Baronet, and Joyce Morgan Brunner. She was educated at Queen Margaret's School in York and later attended Runton Hill School in Norfolk.

Marriage and Family In 1961, Katharine married Prince Edward, Duke of Kent, at York Minster. The couple has three children: George, Earl of St Andrews; Lady Helen Taylor; and Lord Nicholas Windsor.

Royal Duties As a member of the royal family, Katharine, Duchess of Kent, has been involved in various charitable activities and organizations. She has served as the president of several institutions, including the Royal School of Music and the Royal Northern College of Music.
