Krisana Kraisintu is a renowned pharmacist and researcher from Thailand. She is widely recognized for her significant contributions to the field of pharmacology, particularly in the development of affordable antiretroviral drugs for the treatment of HIV/AIDS.

Krisana Kraisintu was born in Bangkok, Thailand. She pursued her education in the field of pharmacy, earning her Bachelor's degree from Chulalongkorn University and her Master's degree from Mahidol University. She later received her Doctorate in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Chulalongkorn University.

Krisana Kraisintu began her career as a researcher at the Government Pharmaceutical Organization (GPO) in Thailand. During her tenure at the GPO, she led the development of the first generic antiretroviral drug in Thailand, which significantly reduced the cost of HIV/AIDS treatment in the country.

In addition to her work in Thailand, Krisana Kraisintu has also contributed to the global fight against HIV/AIDS. She has worked with various international organizations, including the World Health Organization (WHO), to promote access to affordable antiretroviral drugs in developing countries.

Krisana Kraisintu's work has earned her numerous awards and recognition. She was named a Right Livelihood Award laureate in 2009 for her efforts to produce affordable medicine for people living with HIV/AIDS. In 2010, she was awarded the Prince Mahidol Award for her significant contributions to the field of medicine.
