Merck & Co., Inc. (known as Merck Sharp & Dohme (MSD) outside the United States and Canada) is an American multinational pharmaceutical company and one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world.

Merck & Co. was established as a subsidiary of Merck KGaA in the U.S. in 1891. During World War I, the company was confiscated by the U.S. government and subsequently established as an independent American company. It is currently headquartered in Kenilworth, New Jersey, United States.

Merck & Co. produces a wide range of pharmaceutical products, including vaccines, prescription medications, and animal health products.
