Michael L. Eskew

Michael L. Eskew is an American business executive known for his tenure as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of United Parcel Service (UPS), a global package delivery and supply chain management company.

Michael L. Eskew was born in Indiana, United States. He earned a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering from Purdue University in 1972. Eskew also completed the Advanced Management Program at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Career[edit | edit source]

Eskew joined United Parcel Service (UPS) in 1972 as an industrial engineering manager. Over the years, he held various positions within the company, including Vice President of Industrial Engineering, and later, Corporate Vice President for Engineering. In 1994, he was appointed to the UPS Board of Directors.

In 2002, Eskew became the Chairman and CEO of UPS, succeeding James P. Kelly. During his tenure, he focused on expanding the company's global reach and enhancing its technological capabilities. Eskew retired from his role as CEO in 2007 and was succeeded by Scott Davis.
