The trust employs over 2,400 staff and provides services to over 300,000 patients annually. It operates from its main site on City Road in London, as well as over 20 satellite clinics located in various parts of London and the South East.

The trust has plans to relocate its main hospital from City Road to St Pancras Hospital in Camden. The new hospital is expected to be operational by 2025–26 and will cost £352 million.

In addition to its services in the UK, Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust opened a branch in Dubai, UAE in 2007. The trust is also exploring international healthcare accreditation.

The trust requires full funding agreements for all treatments in advance of accepting NHS referrals from outside England. In 2015, it was owed over £600,000 for treatments provided in the previous three years.
