Moses Adekoyejo Majekodunmi (17 August 1916 – 11 April 2012) was a Nigerian physician and politician. He served as the Federal Minister of Health and was also the Administrator of the Western Region during the political crisis in the region in 1962.

Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]

Moses Majekodunmi was born on 17 August 1916 in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria. He attended the Abeokuta Grammar School and later proceeded to the University of Dublin in Ireland, where he studied medicine and graduated in 1942.

Medical Career[edit | edit source]

After completing his medical education, Majekodunmi returned to Nigeria and began his medical practice. He was a prominent physician and contributed significantly to the development of the healthcare system in Nigeria. He was appointed as the Federal Minister of Health in 1960, a position he held until 1966.

Political Career[edit | edit source]

In addition to his medical career, Majekodunmi was actively involved in politics. During the political crisis in the Western Region in 1962, he was appointed as the Administrator of the region by the then Prime Minister, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa. His tenure as Administrator was marked by efforts to restore order and stability in the region.

Later Life and Legacy[edit | edit source]

After his political career, Majekodunmi continued to contribute to the medical field and was involved in various healthcare initiatives. He passed away on 11 April 2012.
