Early Years[edit | edit source]

Modern Era[edit | edit source]

In 1986, General Electric reacquired RCA, and with it, NBC. The network continued to grow, acquiring rights to major sporting events and expanding its news division. In 2004, NBC merged with Vivendi Universal Entertainment to form NBCUniversal. In 2011, Comcast acquired a controlling interest in NBCUniversal.
