Schelto Patijn

Schelto Patijn was a Dutch politician who served as the Mayor of Amsterdam from 1994 to 2001. He was born on June 13, 1936, in The Hague, Netherlands, and passed away on July 15, 2007.

Patijn was a member of the Labour Party and had a long and distinguished career in Dutch politics. Before becoming the Mayor of Amsterdam, he held various positions in local government, including serving as a member of the city council of The Hague and as an alderman in Amsterdam.

During his time as Mayor of Amsterdam, Patijn was known for his progressive policies and his efforts to improve the city's infrastructure and public services. He was also a strong advocate for social justice and equality.
