- West Columbia, Texas is a city located in the Brazoria County, in the United States. It is part of the Houston-The Woodlands-Sugar Land metropolitan area. The city is rich in history and culture, with a population that is diverse and vibrant.

- West Columbia was originally named "Columbia" when it was founded in 1826. It served as the first capital of the Republic of Texas in 1836. The name was changed to "West Columbia" in 1880 to avoid confusion with Columbia, South Carolina.

- West Columbia is located at 29°8'29" North, 95°38'49" West (29.141513, -95.646956). The city has a total area of 2.8 square miles (7.3 km²), all of it land.
