Elastica is a British alternative rock band formed in 1992. Known for their energetic and catchy sound, the band gained popularity in the mid-1990s with their debut album Elastica.

Elastica was formed in London by lead vocalist and guitarist Justine Frischmann, who had previously been a member of the band Suede. She recruited guitarist Donna Matthews, bassist Annie Holland, and drummer Justin Welch to complete the lineup. The band quickly gained attention with their punk-inspired sound and stylish image.

In 1995, Elastica released their self-titled debut album, which became an instant success. The album featured hit singles such as "Connection" and "Line Up", which showcased the band's blend of punk, new wave, and indie rock influences.
