Michael L. Eskew

Michael L. Eskew is an American business executive known for his tenure as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of United Parcel Service (UPS), one of the world's largest package delivery companies and a provider of supply chain management solutions.

Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]

Michael L. Eskew was born in . He earned a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering from Purdue University in 1972. Eskew also completed the Advanced Management Program at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Career at UPS[edit | edit source]

Eskew joined UPS in 1972 as an industrial engineering manager. Over the years, he held various positions within the company, including Vice President of Industrial Engineering, and later, Corporate Vice President for Engineering. In 1994, he was named Group Vice President for Engineering, and in 1998, he became Executive Vice President.

In 2002, Eskew was appointed Chairman and CEO of UPS, succeeding James P. Kelly. During his tenure, he focused on expanding the company's global reach and enhancing its technological capabilities. Eskew retired from UPS in 2007 and was succeeded by Scott Davis.

Michael L. Eskew has served on the boards of several major corporations and organizations. He has been a member of the board of directors for 3M, IBM, and Allstate. Additionally, he has been involved with various industry and community organizations, including the Business Roundtable and the National Academy of Engineering.
