Nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drug
A pharmacological agent that is not a steroid and has potential anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antipyretic and anti-platelet activities. Most nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (nsaids) act by inhibiting the conversion of arachidonic acid to the precursors of prostaglandin and thromboxane by cyclooxygenase enzymes.
