Sandy Allen

Sandy Allen (June 18, 1955 – August 13, 2008) was an American woman recognized as the tallest woman during her life according to the Guinness World Records. She was born in Chicago, Illinois, and grew up in Shelbyville, Indiana. Sandy Allen's height was officially recorded at 7 feet 7 inches (231 cm), a result of an abnormal growth due to a tumor in her pituitary gland, which caused it to release growth hormone uncontrollably.
