Antioncogene

antioncogene (AN-tee-ON-koh-jeen) is a type of gene that makes a protein called a tumor suppressor protein that helps control cell growth. Mutations (changes in DNA) in antioncogenes may lead to cancer. Also called tumor suppressor gene.
