(as-te-at-o'-sis) [a, priv.; oxkap, tallow; tborjf, fulness], i. A deficiency or absence of the sebaceous secretion. 2. Any skin disease (as xeroderma) characterized by scantiness or lack of the sebaceous secretion.

A. cutis, a condition of diminished sebace- ous secretion, as the result of which the skin becomes dry, scaly, and often fissured.
