From WikiMD's Food, Medicine & Wellness Encyclopedia

CDK4 gene - (… jeen) A gene that makes a protein involved in the cell cycle (the process a cell goes through each time it divides). Mutations (changes) in the CDK4 gene may cause cells to divide too quickly or in an uncontrolled way. This may cause abnormal cells, including cancer cells, to grow.
