Council

Council is a term that refers to a group of people who come together to consult, deliberate, or make decisions. The term is derived from the Old French conseil, which means "consultation, advice, counsel, deliberation, judgment".

Types of Councils

• Student Council: A representative structure for students only, where they can become involved in the affairs of the school, working in partnership with school management, staff, and parents for the benefit of the school and its students.
• Council of Ministers: The name given to the supreme executive organ in some governments.
• Security Council: One of the six main organs of the United Nations, charged with ensuring international peace and security, accepting new members to the United Nations, and approving any changes to its charter.
