Doconexent (also known as DHA, Docosahexaenoic Acid) is an omega-3 fatty acid that is a primary structural component of the human brain, cerebral cortex, skin, sperm, testicles and retina. It can be synthesized from alpha-linolenic acid or obtained directly from maternal milk (breast milk), fish oil, or algae oil.

Doconexent plays a crucial role in the biochemistry of the body. It is involved in the formation of cell membranes and plays a key role in the anti-inflammatory process and in the viscosity of cell membranes. Doconexent is essential for proper brain development and function. It contributes to the maintenance of normal brain function throughout life, being involved in neurotransmission and neuroprotection.

The human body can produce DHA from alpha-linolenic acid, a fatty acid that the body cannot produce on its own. However, the efficiency of conversion is relatively low.
