Ganglionic Disorders

There are several disorders that can affect the ganglions, including:

• Ganglion cyst: This is a noncancerous lump, often on the hand or wrist. Ganglion cysts can also appear on feet, ankles, knees, or shoulders. A ganglion cyst might appear suddenly, grow slowly, and vary in size.
• Ganglioneuroma: This is a rare, benign tumor that originates from nerve cells and is most commonly found in the adrenal glands.

Treatment

Treatment for ganglionic disorders depends on the specific disorder and may include medication, physical therapy, or surgery. For example, a ganglion cyst might not need treatment if it's not causing any symptoms, but it can be removed surgically if it's painful or causing other problems.
