Maxillary sinus is type of paranasal sinus in the bone called maxilla
What is a sinus?[edit | edit source]
A sinus is a hollow space in the bones around the nose.
Anatomy[edit | edit source]
There are two large maxillary sinuses, one in each of the maxillary bones, which are in the cheek area next to the nose.
Function[edit | edit source]
The maxillary sinuses are lined with cells that make mucus to keep the nose from drying out.
