Summary[edit]

Summary
Description   Fungus found growing in my cat's water dish.  According to the same expert that kindly identified my sample of Harposporium anguillulae, “this is definitely a nematophagous fungus of the genus Arthrobotrys, probably Arthrobotrys oligospora or Arthrobotrys candida.  The structures shown on your image are threedimensional adhesive nets.”  See <http://www.biological-research.com/philip-jacobs%20BRIC/ar-olig.htm>.  10× objective, 15× eyepiece; numbered ticks are 122 µM apart.  In the full-sized version of this image, each pixel represents a 0.407-µM square.  See also:    File:20100814_175958_FungusOnDeadnematode_HarposporiumAnguillulae.jpg    File:20100814_180201_FungusOnDeadnematode_HarposporiumAnguillulae.jpg
