Description Lamp; Unknown; 1st century B.C.–4th century A.D.; Terracotta; 4.5 × 21.5 cm (1 3/4 × 8 7/16 in.); 83.AQ.377.525; No Copyright - United States (http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/NoC-US/1.0/) Description: Wheelmade. Suspension chandelier consisting of large tubular circular ring strengthened by a central flat base with four cut-outs, suggesting the shape of a Greek cross. Six tubular upturned nozzles evenly distributed on the edge of the ring. One shorter rising tube is the filling-hole. Three suspension rings evenly spaced on the ring of the body. Nozzles and suspension rings made separately and applied to the wheelmade body. Flat plain circular base with string marks.
