| Description | The blue colour shows arterial (non-oxygenated) blood, the red colour shows venous (oxygenated) blood. The purple colour shows blood that is partly oxygenated and partly non-oxygenated, but which does not move in the vessel due to the wedging. The unoxygenated blood flows from the left through the pulmonary artery, the oxygenated blood flows to the right through the pulmonary vein. The simplified branching of blood vessels in the middle of the screen is intended to symbolize the blood capillaries in the lungs. |
