Medical imaging of a 79 year old woman who had a fall 3 weeks previously.



Projectional radiography ("X-ray") shows a subtle subcapital radiodense line


Labeled


CT scan shows the same. The cortex is coherent, which is atypical of a fracture


T1-weighted, turbo spin echo, MRI confirms a fracture, as the surrounding bone marrow has low signal from edema.


Hansson pins were used for fixation
