Caramel Crème Brûlée[edit | edit source]
Caramel Crème Brûlée is a delicious, creamy dessert that is perfect for those following a keto diet. This recipe is easy to make and is sure to satisfy your sweet tooth.
Ingredients[edit | edit source]
- 1 cup of heavy cream
- 1/4 cup of erythritol
- 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 2 egg yolks
- 1/4 cup of sugar-free caramel syrup
- 1 tablespoon of erythritol (for the caramel topping)
Instructions[edit | edit source]
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
- In a medium saucepan, combine the heavy cream, erythritol, and vanilla extract. Heat over medium heat until it begins to simmer.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the egg yolks until they become slightly frothy.
- Slowly pour the heated cream mixture into the egg yolks, whisking constantly to prevent the eggs from cooking.
- Stir in the sugar-free caramel syrup.
- Pour the mixture into four ramekins and place them in a baking dish. Fill the dish with boiling water until it reaches halfway up the sides of the ramekins.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the centers are set.
- Remove from the oven and let cool. Once cooled, refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
- Before serving, sprinkle each ramekin with the remaining erythritol and use a torch to caramelize the top. If you don't have a torch, you can also broil the ramekins in the oven for a few minutes until the tops are golden.
