Chowking is a popular fast food chain in the Philippines that specializes in Chinese cuisine. It was founded in 1985 by Robert Kuan in Makati, Philippines. Chowking has since expanded its operations, becoming a key player in the fast food industry in the Philippines and has also established locations in other countries, including the United States, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Indonesia.

Chowking started with a vision to combine the fast food service concept with Chinese cooking tradition. The brand quickly distinguished itself by offering Chinese food items that were adapted to the Filipino palate, such as Chao Fan (fried rice), Lauriat (a meal combo), and Halo-Halo (a mixed ice dessert), among others. The success of its initial outlets led to rapid expansion throughout the Philippines.

In 2000, Chowking became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Jollibee Foods Corporation, the largest fast food company in the Philippines. This acquisition allowed Chowking to further expand its network and enhance its operations through the shared expertise and resources of the Jollibee Group.
