Jeff Sebo

Jeff Sebo' is an American philosopher and bioethicist known for his work in animal ethics, environmental ethics, and the philosophy of mind. He is currently a Clinical Associate Professor of Environmental Studies at New York University (NYU) and the Director of the NYU Animal Studies M.A. Program.

Jeff Sebo received his B.A. in Philosophy from Texas Christian University and his Ph.D. in Philosophy from New York University. His doctoral dissertation focused on issues in animal ethics and the philosophy of mind.

After completing his Ph.D., Sebo held various academic positions, including a postdoctoral fellowship at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and a faculty position at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He joined the faculty at NYU in 2017, where he has been instrumental in developing the Animal Studies M.A. Program.
