Akash Manoj

From WikiMD's Food, Medicine & Wellness Encyclopedia

Akash Manoj is a young Indian scientist known for his significant contributions to the field of medical science. He is particularly recognized for developing a device that can predict silent heart attacks, a major breakthrough in cardiology.

Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]

Akash Manoj was born and raised in Tamil Nadu, India. He developed an interest in science and technology at a young age. His passion for biology and medicine led him to pursue a career in medical research.

Career and Achievements[edit | edit source]

At the age of 15, Manoj developed a device that can predict silent heart attacks up to six hours before they occur. This device, which is worn on the wrist, works by detecting the levels of a protein called FABP3 in the blood. FABP3 is released during heart damage, such as during a heart attack.

Manoj's invention has the potential to save millions of lives worldwide. Silent heart attacks often go unnoticed because they do not cause the typical symptoms of a heart attack, such as chest pain and shortness of breath. By predicting these attacks, Manoj's device can alert individuals to seek medical help before it's too late.

For his groundbreaking work, Manoj has received numerous awards and recognition. He was named one of the top 10 innovators under 20 by the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in 2017. He also received the Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Ignite Award for his invention.

Future Prospects[edit | edit source]

Manoj continues to work on improving his device and hopes to make it available to the public in the near future. He also plans to continue his research in cardiology, with a focus on finding new ways to prevent and treat heart disease.
