Alan M. Krensky

Alan M. Krensky is an American physician and scientist known for his contributions to the field of pediatrics and immunology. He is currently the Vice Dean for Stanford University School of Medicine and holds the Shelagh Galligan Professorship in the School of Medicine.

Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]

Krensky was born and raised in the United States. He completed his undergraduate studies at Williams College, where he majored in biology. He then went on to earn his medical degree from the Stanford University School of Medicine.

Career[edit | edit source]

After completing his medical degree, Krensky completed his residency in pediatrics at the Boston Children's Hospital. He then joined the faculty at Harvard Medical School, where he served as a professor of pediatrics.

In 2002, Krensky returned to Stanford University School of Medicine, where he currently serves as the Vice Dean. In this role, he oversees the school's research programs and initiatives. He also holds the Shelagh Galligan Professorship in the School of Medicine.

Krensky's research focuses on the immune system and its role in disease. He has made significant contributions to our understanding of how the immune system responds to infection and disease. His work has led to the development of new treatments for diseases such as kidney disease and cancer.

Awards and Honors[edit | edit source]

Krensky has received numerous awards and honors for his contributions to medicine and science. These include the American Society of Nephrology's John P. Peters Award and the American Pediatric Society's E. Mead Johnson Award.
