Alfred Rusescu

Alfred Rusescu (1895-1957) was a renowned Romanian pediatrician and neonatologist, best known for his significant contributions to the field of neonatal medicine. He is considered a pioneer in the development of modern neonatology in Romania and has been recognized for his efforts in reducing infant mortality rates.

Alfred Rusescu was born in Bucharest, Romania in 1895. He pursued his medical studies at the University of Bucharest, where he developed a keen interest in pediatrics and neonatology. Today, the Institute for Mother and Child Care in Bucharest, one of the leading pediatric hospitals in Romania, is named in his honor.
