Patrick may refer to several notable figures, places, and concepts. The most common association is with Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. However, it can also refer to a variety of other subjects, including names, places, and works of art.

Saint Patrick[edit | edit source]

Saint Patrick (c. 385–461) was a fifth-century Romano-British Christian missionary and bishop in Ireland. Known as the "Apostle of Ireland", he is the primary patron saint of Ireland. The dates of Patrick's life cannot be fixed with certainty, but there is broad agreement that he was active as a missionary in Ireland during the second half of the fifth century.

Patrick is a common given name for boys in the English-speaking world. It is derived from the Latin name Patricius, which means "nobleman". Notable people named Patrick include Patrick Dempsey, an American actor known for his role on the television show Grey's Anatomy, and Patrick Stewart, a British actor known for his roles in Star Trek: The Next Generation and the X-Men film series.
