Wiesbaden

Wiesbaden is the capital city of the German state of Hesse. It is one of the oldest spa towns in Europe, known for its architecture, climate, and hot springs.

Wiesbaden's history dates back to the Roman Empire, when it was a fort for the Roman army. The city's name, "Wiesbaden", translates to "meadow baths", a reference to its famous hot springs. It was officially granted city rights in 1242.

Wiesbaden is located on the right (northern) bank of the Rhine River, near the cities of Frankfurt am Main and Mainz. The city is surrounded by the Taunus mountains, and it is one of the greenest cities in Germany, with numerous parks and forests.
