Amanita chrysoblema is a species of mushroom in the genus Amanita. It is commonly known as the golden veil Amanita. This fungus is characterized by its distinctive appearance and is found in various regions around the world.

The cap of Amanita chrysoblema is convex when young, becoming flat with age. It is typically yellow to golden in color, with remnants of the universal veil forming patches or warts on the surface. The gills are white and free, while the stem is slender and may have a ring or annulus.

Distribution and Habitat[edit | edit source]

Amanita chrysoblema is known to grow in mixed woodlands, often in association with hardwood trees. It is found in North America, Europe, and other parts of the world where suitable habitat conditions exist.

Toxicity[edit | edit source]

As with many species in the genus Amanita, Amanita chrysoblema is considered toxic and should not be consumed. It contains toxins that can cause severe illness or even death if ingested.

This species may be confused with other yellow-capped Amanita species, such as Amanita muscaria or Amanita flavoconia. Careful identification based on key features is essential to differentiate between these species.
