Bethel Acres is located in the central part of Oklahoma, approximately 35 miles east of Oklahoma City. The town covers an area of 23.3 square miles, of which 23.2 square miles is land and 0.1 square miles is water.

Bethel Acres was incorporated as a town in 1972. The town's name is derived from the Bethel Missionary Society, which established a mission in the area in the late 19th century.
