- Dimmitt is a city located in Castro County, Texas, United States. As the county seat of Castro County, Dimmitt is a small but significant city in the Texas Panhandle. The city was established in 1891 and named after Rev. W.C. Dimmitt. As of the 2010 census, the city had a population of 4,393.
