Family doctor

Family doctor or general practitioner (GP) is a medical professional who provides primary and continuing care to individuals and families across all ages, genders, diseases, and parts of the body. Education and Training

Becoming a family doctor requires extensive education and training. This is followed by a certification examination administered by the relevant medical board in their country.

Challenges and Future Directions

Family doctors face several challenges, including increasing patient loads, administrative burdens, and the need to keep up with advances in medical knowledge and technology. Despite these challenges, the role of the family doctor is expected to remain crucial in the future, particularly in the context of an aging population and the increasing prevalence of chronic diseases.
