Fingers is a drinking game that is popular in various social settings. The game is typically played with a group of people and involves a combination of luck and strategy. It is known for its simplicity and the minimal equipment required to play.

Rules and Gameplay[edit | edit source]

The game of Fingers is played with a group of players, usually around a table. The only equipment needed is a large cup or glass, often referred to as the "death cup," which is placed in the center of the table. Each player places one finger on the rim of the cup.

Setup[edit | edit source]

1. All players gather around a table and place one finger on the rim of the central cup. 2. The game begins with one player, known as the "caller," who will start the round.

Playing a Round[edit | edit source]

1. The caller counts down from three and then calls out a number between 0 and the total number of fingers on the cup. 2. Simultaneously, all players must decide whether to keep their finger on the cup or remove it. 3. After the call, the number of fingers remaining on the cup is counted. 4. If the number of fingers on the cup matches the number called by the caller, the caller is out of the game. 5. If the number does not match, the game continues with the next player becoming the caller.

Winning the Game[edit | edit source]

The game continues until only one player remains. The last player remaining is declared the winner.

Variations[edit | edit source]

There are several variations of Fingers, which may include different rules for calling numbers, additional challenges, or penalties for incorrect calls. Some variations may also involve drinking penalties for players who are eliminated.

Social and Cultural Aspects[edit | edit source]

Fingers is often played in social gatherings, parties, and other informal settings. It is a popular game among college students and young adults. The game is known for its ability to break the ice and encourage social interaction.
